Training, webinars and events: common questions
For solicitors and law firms. The training we plan, how it will fit with membership, and how our Training Directory will work. Training is being designed, and nothing is scheduled yet.
Looking for support for yourself? Our Support Directory lists helplines and organisations you can contact directly.
This page describes what Abuse Support Network plans. Plans can change before training opens. We last reviewed it on 6 October 2026.
What is planned
What training is planned?
- Webinars. Short online sessions on abuse claims, survivors’ needs and good practice, planned monthly once training opens.
- Recorded webinars. Past webinars to watch at a time that suits you.
- Courses. Longer courses on abuse claims, trauma-informed practice and working with survivors.
- Conferences and events. Events where solicitors, experts and support organisations can meet and learn from each other.
Is anything scheduled?
No. Nothing is scheduled yet. Our own webinars are planned monthly once training opens.
Is there training for solicitors?
It is planned. Our Training Directory will list webinars, courses and events for solicitors, medical experts, therapists and support workers who work with survivors of abuse. It will group training by who it is for, with a page for solicitors and legal staff.
Training and membership
Is training included in membership?
We plan to include our webinars, and recordings you can watch later, in membership. Training is being designed, and nothing is scheduled yet.
Solicitor membership is not open yet either. See how applying will work.Solicitor membership is open now, but training is not part of it yet. You can apply to join the Legal Directory.
Read more questions about solicitor membership.
Will there be news for professionals?
We plan news for professionals, with updates on the law, compensation schemes and services for survivors of abuse, and a blog with articles on abuse claims, expert evidence and survivor-first practice. We also plan a newsletter for members. None of these has started yet.
Our current articles, written for survivors, are on Insights.
The Training Directory
What is the Training Directory?
It will list webinars, courses and events for solicitors, medical experts, therapists and support workers who work with survivors of abuse. Each listing will show who runs the training and who it is for, and you will deal with the provider directly, not with us.
The Training Directory is being designed. No courses are listed yet, and nothing can be booked. See the Training Directory.
Our firm runs training. Can we list it?
Not yet. Training provider membership is planned for organisations and people who run training for those who work with survivors, and members’ courses will appear in our Training Directory. We plan to check who runs the training once for each provider, not for every course.
Training provider membership is being designed and is not open yet. Read about membership.
