What does a plastic surgeon do?

Plastic surgeons restore form and function following illness or trauma. In the NHS their work is mainly reconstructive surgery, including after burns, and trauma surgery after accidents and violent incidents. A scar is a mark on the skin after a wound or injury has healed, and most scars fade over time.
