Support for economic abuse and financial abuse in relationships

This page is for you if a partner or an ex-partner has taken or controlled your money, run up debts in your name, or stopped you working or studying. This is called economic abuse, and in England and Wales the law names it as a form of domestic abuse. If it’s a family member, our Domestic abuse page can help. You contact each organisation directly, using the details on its card.

In danger now? Call 999. If you can’t speak, see how to get help silently. To contact the police when it isn’t an emergency, call 101.
