Training for medical experts who report in abuse claims
This category will list training for doctors, psychologists and other clinicians who write reports in abuse claims. The GMC’s guidance says a doctor acting as an expert witness has a duty to the court to act independently and to be objective and impartial, and that this overrides any obligation to the person instructing or paying them. It also says doctors must consider in each case whether they have the knowledge, training and experience to help the court.
